Merluvlee
From Paper Wiki
Merluvlee is a fortune teller and Merlon's granddaughter in the game Paper Mario. She lives (along with her younger brother Merlow) in a large house on Shooting Star Summit and travelers who visit her can pay money to have her look into her Twinkle Star. With her abilities, she can help locate Badges, Star Pieces, and Super Blocks. Although her face is hidden under a cloak, Goombario claims that she is extremely beautiful and seems to have a crush on her. It should also be noted that this Merluvlee said "My, my..." excessively as a catchphrase.
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, she can be found in Rogueport Sewers. Although she looks different than before, she will still offer the same services (though also featuring Merlon's Paper Mario ability of showing Mario what he should do next), and various characters still claim that she is beautiful under her veil. This Merluvlee may, in fact, be a different Merluvlee than the one in Paper Mario. This is because Wonky states there is a fortune-telling clan that names its members after their role in the clan. Perhaps the name "Merluvlee" indicates a certain role or ability one performs in the clan.
Merluvlee was also prominently featured in the main story of the fifth issue of Rogueport Direct Mail in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which stated that she had previously been taken to an unnamed hospital, followed by several concerned fans. Fortunately for her and her fans, Merluvlee had apparently merely suffered from indigestion after eating too many Shroom Steaks, at which she stated that her "aura was brimming with the power of steak". The story of Merluvlee's indigestion ended with the writer pondering how Merluvlee was unable to predict the "gastrointestinal adventure" in the first place. Merluvlee also plays a more major role in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door's plot as the apparent "Rogueport fortune teller" who told General White that finding Mario would allow his life's dreams to be fulfilled.
Merluvlee makes a return in Super Paper Mario, working as a fortune teller in Flipside. By this time, Merluvlee had completely switched her services over, dumping the item-location abilities she offered in Paper Mario and instead completely focusing on Merlon's Paper Mario abilities of telling Mario his next path, abilities she first merged with her classic ones in Paper Mairo: The Thousand-Year Door. Here, she is Merlee's rival (although past games had depicted Merlee and Merluvlee as sisters) and has been ever since they were classmates. Merluvlee wears 3D glasses in this game and has a chant very similar to that of Queen Jaydes. Bestovius was going to give Merluvlee a Training Machine (actually a Nintendo DS) at an unknown time during or before the events of Super Paper Mario; when Mario came to request a Crystal Ball for Merlee from Merluvlee, Merluvlee decided that she'd give Mario one in return for the Training Device, which she desperately needed (apparently to exercise her brain).
Apparently, the Merluvlee in Super Paper Mario had been greatly helped by Merlee once; upon handing over the Crystal Ball for Merlee, Merluvlee tells Mario to tell her rival, "Now we're even."

Trivia
- Merluvlee's name is a portmanteau of "Merlon" (therefore making her indirectly named after the fictional wizard Merlin) and a corruption of the word "lovely", which several characters describe her as.
- According to The InterNed, Merluvlee and Merlee's theme in Super Paper Mario is titled "The Road for the Lost."
