Sith Apprentice
Not much is known about Palpatine's early life, but at some point he became the Sith apprentice under Darth Plagueis-a Sith Lord.
A Sith tradition meant that apprentices had to kill someone they loved. Seeing as others did this, Sidious must have killed a loved one. If only he had killed himself .
