Paul is dead is an erstwhile name given to an erstwhile conspiracy in the mid-'60s to kill off Paul McCartney and replace him with a lookalike named Billy Shears.

He was also wearing black on the cover of Abbey Road. Plus, the walrus symbolizes death in Celtic tradition, and the walrus was Paul.
[edit] Obvious Flaws
It's all completely speculative, and some of it is based on misinterpretation. Why in tarnation would the Beatles want to reveal through moronic clues that one of them had secretly died? On the face of it, the whole thing's absurd.
