• English poetry : the English poetry full-text database - on CD-ROM. Available for use in Craighouse and Merchiston libraries.

• Archival Sound Recordings - British Library - includes African Writers' Club
• Arts on Film Archive - University of Westminster offers on-line access to a large range of films on arts topics produced in the United Kingdom since the 1950s.
• BFI Screenonline Information and film clips of drama on screen
• Film and Sound Online Includes Performance Shakespeare collection of 11 films
• The John Johnson Collection: an archive of printed ephemera offering unique insights into the changing nature of everyday life in Britain in the eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth centuries

• Voice of the Shuttle - can't find any evidence that the site is currently being maintained, but there is still much useful material here.

Literature

• Project Gutenberg - over 20,000 free books in the Project Gutenberg Online Book Catalog. A grand total of over 100,000 titles is available at Project Gutenberg Partners, Affiliates and Resources. You are advised to check that books are out of copyright in the UK (or your home country) before downloading.

• The Victorian Web - "dedicated to “literature, history and culture in the age of Victoria”. Useful background material for 19th century literature.

• The Poetry Archive - "The Poetry Archive is the world's premier online collection of recordings of poets reading their work."

• The Literary Gothic - a Web guide to all things concerned with literary Gothicism, which aims to collect together as many important links and e-texts as possible.

• BUBL Publishing Studies - a list of vetted sites relating to various aspects of publishing. A concise description is given for each site. The site is not currently being updated, but most links still seem to work.

• Reconstruction: studies in contemporary culture - an interdisciplinary culture studies community. Online peer-reviewed journal.

• Popcultures.com - the webpage of US academic Sarah Zupko. Articles, papers, theorists and critics, book reviews, bibliographies, newsgroups and listservs. Includes access to the online journal Popmatters: the magazine of global culture.
