Born into a middle class family in London, Nicholas Ryan Ganzer was never at a loss for a new toy, but he wasn’t by any means spoiled either. His parents were always careful not to dote on him too much, as they didn’t want their son to become used to getting everything from others, and having other people do everything for him. Also, as a child, his parents instilled in him ‘old-fashioned’ manners, and those would stay with him. He is also a half-blood.
As a child, Nick was always seen in the company of either a broom or a book, depending on the weather. He loved both types of objects and greatly enjoyed participating in them. When his little sister was born, he took great enjoyment in playing with her as well.
At Hogwarts, until his third year, Nick was mostly anti-social, quiet, and withdrawn. He had a few close friends here and there, yes, but it wasn’t until he tried out for the Quidditch team in his third year that he became open with others. Now, while still being somewhat quiet and shy, he’s much more open than he once was. Still, he doesn’t like to purposely draw attention to or on himself.
Nick plays Quidditch for Ravenclaw, and takes all the ‘basic’ classes (Charms, DADA, Tranfiguration, Potions, Herbology, and CoMC), plus Divination
Personality
Magically, Nick loves, and is good at, both Potions and Herbology. He finds the former to be fascinating and loves learning what objects can be surprisingly power. Herbology is something that interests him greatly as well, as he loves to take care of other things (which means he loves CoMC as well, but he’s not super in that), and enjoys their beauty.
His personality is… well, a classic gentleman. He’s the sort of guy to open doors, pull out chairs, take a girl’s coat… the works. By nature, he is a quiet, sweet, and nice guy. He’s friendly, yes, but he doesn’t go out of his way to draw attention to himself. He gets extremely awkward and flustered from time to time, especially when embarrassed or around pretty girls.
As nice as he is, however, he’s not one to NOT defend himself. It takes quite a bit to get him upset or angry, but when he does, he can be quite mean and cutting.
At school, he fails miserably at Ancient Runes and Aritmancy— the classes that require lots of knowledge and facts. A Ravenclaw he may be, but he’s not good with things that are set in stone and rarely change. He LIKES the subjects, it’s just… he’s bad at them.
His personality, since it is so different from most males his age, sets him apart a bit, and causes him to be made fun of. He certainly lacks the confidence that most of his classmates seem to possess and sometimes looks down on himself because of their remarks. He has no desire to change, but it still hurts him quite a bit. He’s got an extremely negative view of himself, despite KNOWING, in his heart, he’s a good person. The abuse when he was younger really screwed him up.
Physical Description
Standing at about 6’2” tall, Nicholas is surprisingly…well, tall and well built. He’s not extremely muscular, nor by any means scrawny. He has some muscle, but really, he’s like a big teddy bear. His eyes are a blue-green colour and his hair is brown, and messy. His cheeks show dimples when he smiles (which is often!) and the grin is rather…well, big and friendly.
History

Relationships
Maddox Dixon is his BFF, since they're in the same house/year/share a love for the classes nobody else really likes. Maddox tends to make Nick feel a bit more confident and outgoing.
Danielle Littleton is someone he has the Biggest Crush Ever on. He's very much attracted to her, since she's quite pretty, and they have very similiar personalities. Nick's more akward and shy than usual around her.
Dariana Davison tends to force him out of his shell. She's the one girl he finds it easy to talk to and open up with. Dari gives him advice... which, he followed when asking Danielle Littleton to a Hogsmeade trip, something normally out of character for him.
Darin DeLouise is someone he despises, for whatever reason. Their personalities clash quite a bit, and he's highly jealous that Darin ever dated Dani. So... he kinda hates on him.
Lucas Longshore is someone he can't stand. Period. End of story.

Ravenclaw, the Scholars:
Priests and Scholars. Wisdom, intelligence, hunger for knowledge. What can be more Ravenclaw than that? Rowena Ravenclaw was a Scholar if there ever was one.
Classes
Nick adores Potions and Herbology, the two classes most people despise. He, however, is completely fascinated by them. He's a terror at Ancient Runes and Arithmancy though, so he avoids those as much as possible.
