x.yz  [e.g 2.31]

x = version - major update or revision [larger revisions or rewrites warranted number jumps like from 4.50 to 6.50]

y = subversion - lesser updates, major bugfixes

z = revision - small updates and such, typo fixes

Compuease Faraday Version Scheme v3 [Faraday 30.9.4 and newer]

Borrowed from the second version scheme used for Faraday Anywhere, this string representation is used to fully explain the product in as few characters as possible

PPVVSSRRAAA [e.g. FD300904X86]

PP = Product. A few examples:

  • FD: Faraday [Desktop OS]
  • FA: Faraday Anywhere

VV = Version

SS = Subversion

RR = Revision

AAA = Processor Architecture

  • X86: an Intel or AMD x86 based processor
  • PPC: PowerPc
  • 68K: a Motorola MC68000 or 100% compatible
