Strengths Covers many aspects of social networking, including specific areas for photos and videos. Existed since 1999, so has had time to work on its format and features. Easy to add comments with the text editor, which allows HTML editing and smiley faces. Blogrings tool allows you to find members with similar interests. Posts can be rated by other users.

Weaknesses You have to pay to get increased functionality and no adverts. Members can customise their blogs with backgrounds/music etc, which can actually make them difficult (and annoying!) to read. A lot of “Chinese” results in a search for WebCT! No RSS. Seemingly young audience (a lot of useless waffle!).

Opportunities A “one-stop-shop” for blogs, photos and video, whereas some other sites focus on only one of these tools.

Threats So many other services out there! Is it trying to be all things to all people? What is flavour of the month, which one has the best features? It is very easy for users to sign up to multiple sites and stick with the best, so they need to have an “edge”.
