From a normal consumer’s view, the canister for this set isn’t really appealing. Although it has a great design, with all the vines and knowledge towers flitting in the background, it still just plain sucks. The Lego Company has always wanted to prevent canisters from being opened before sold, and thus created a sticker like cover for the sets since 2005 to do so. This, however is the failing point here. The placement of the sticker is often uneven and also often not straight. Sometimes the whole sticker tears off, leaving a huge gaping hole on the canister, much to the desperation of others. This results in some frustrating moments for collectors who want to keep the beautiful canisters properly. As a side note, I do not know whether this is a problem for you guys out there, but one thing I really hate about the canisters are the price tags. Often, they are placed on the canister stickers by unconcerned store staff, and will refuse to come off, or will leave an ugly stain even after vigorous scrubbing. The age limit also makes us look childish.  :p

The cover of the canister however, has a slot which allows Rhotuka spinners to be stacked into it for easy storage, a must have for all the Rhotuka fans.

On the back of the canister, are the usual stuff, consisting of a picture of the Nokama and Nuju combiner, the Kanoka Club Code, and also pictures showing us how to operate a Rhotuka Spinner.

The Set:

In total, there are 46 pieces in this set. Looking back in time, there are a total of 17 new pieces. The old pieces includes 6 normal sockets/hip-joints, 2 double sockets/hip-joints, 1 Toa Kopaka Olda leg piece, 1 Toa Metru hip-piece, 2 Toa Metru upper-leg armour, 2 Technic gears,4 axles in varying lengths, 2 Bohrok eyes, 3 blue friction pins and 5 Technic pins.

The others are completely new (by-2005). They consist of Nuju’s mutated mask, 2 Hordika Teeth, 2 Hordika legs, 2 Keetongu chest plates, 2 different Hordika arms, 1 Hordika chest plate, 1 Hordika body, 2 Rhotuka spinners, 1 Rhotuka lash, 1 Rhotuka launcher and 1 Rhotuka launcher rod.

An extremely fun and straightforward build, Nuju is also very stable even in his uncompleted form.

Nuju comes together quickly, and very solidly. His limbs are quite stable, and wouldn’t wobble around. Overall, Nuju has a nice design, although I would put that his body is quite empty. Yes, totally empty. Peer through the top of his body, and a nice gaping hole would be there to welcome you. I personally would like to hace at least some filler pieces to put inside his torso.

As shown here, Toa Hordika Nuju is slightly taller than his Toa Metru counterpart. He is also more flexible and posable, which is a plus side here.

His colour scheme is also wonderfull, although I wish that the light-blue could have been included more.

An interesting feature here is his right arm. The Technic gears allow it to be moved up and down by pulling at the arm or spinning the gear. Loved by some and hated by others, it proves to be quite nice, and fits in to his already primal form.

The Hordika Teeth are also an excellent weapon. They are transparent blue, and are made of some sort of plastic-rubber which are very bendable. I however, would not suggest you to bend it to far in fear of it breaking.

Also, the Toa Hordika are the first ever Toa to sport a mask that does not need a head. All it has are 2 Bohrok teeth, a plus rod and a Hordika neck to support it. This however, is quite nice and does not effect the overall model.

Playing Experience:

I’ve had a really great time playing and fooling around with Nuju here, all the while annoying my sister by making grunting sounds and swinging his arms around. I’ve also included some pictures here showing how posable and stable he is.

Here, Nuju strikes a canister pose.

WHAM! A high kick into Toa Metru Nuju’s overlarge mask!

Awww… Isn’t he adorable?

Grand Finale:

RAWR!

Overall, Nuju is a great set to own, being more handsome than his Toa Metru counterpart. With many useful parts for MOCing, this is a truly must-have-set.

The only downside is his empty torso and not-very-posable-awkward-left-arm. Yup, only that. Thus, I give him an overall rating of 9/10.
