Character -> Species
by NGG
When bringing a character into the world, their species can be determined from several diverse and unique backgrounds.
- Human - Coming from the most resilient background, human beings populate regions in the densest proportions. As a result, their influence is very strong in most of the [universe]. Their technology is the most advanced, and this shows in their weaponry and battle tactics. The human species is usually considered a symbol of the ability to overcome and adapt amongst other species.
- Draacan - The society of the Draacans revolves around battle and war. To them, you live to expand the boundaries of your influence and power. If you cannot fight, you are no longer a contributing member to society and are useless to your people. Thusly, the Draacans are most often thought of as a barbaric and immoral society, but their methods of engaging in battle and fighting to the very end are considered admirable.
- [Avian] - Avians tend to look down on most species as vastly inferior to their own way of life. In their world, religion is the law. They are very proud of their culture, and any offense against it is an assault to their society and is met with sheer contempt, regardless of whether he or she is religious or not. This makes an [Avian] very easily swayed by terms of prejudice, but their spiritual faith lends them remarkable abilities as unconquerable crusaders for truth.
- Cananites - [Work in progress]
- Myokian - Culture in the tribal Myokian world revolves around small nuclear families. This is the common factor all Myokian tribes share. If you are a fighter, you will fight for the sake of your family unit, and never for yourself. Hence, those born into the same tribe are born as brothers and sisters of one another, but may never act as a family at all. A unit is usually formed when a strong Myokian male develops a group of followers. Below are the 3 tribes:
- Islaun - A tribe that exists for the sake of retaining the history of the Myokian species. A Myokian born into the Islaun tribe is born into a rich and profitable society. However, they are often at odds with the Voju tribe over turning the sanctity of Myokian history into something self-sufficient. The Islaun tribe is the most likely to associate with other species on diplomatic terms and usually offer their services as Ambassadors to the Myokian people. Like other Myokians, Islaun also fulfill their natural desire to wander and explore, but on a larger scale than most. This makes them the most easily recognizable tribe in almost any place in the [universe].
- Shani - The gentle pacifists of the Myokian species, the Shani do not engage in battle with the rest of the world. The members of this species are born to serve their religious elders in search of spiritual happiness. Usually, they are allowed to live in their solitude peacefully, but there are those Shani that desire to travel outside their homelands. This is known as a rite-of-passage in the Shani tribes, and eventually will lead to a Myokian's decision of whether to return to their land to continue their studies or seek out their own way of life. It is said that a magical barrier protects their lands from any negative influences crossing into their borders.
- Voju - The Voju are born to become fierce hand-to-hand fighters to protect the Myokian lands. Unlike the Islaun that would take a diplomatic resolution, or the pacifistic Shani tribes, the Voju will raise an uproar over any unwelcome trespass into their territories. While they may be reluctant to stand up for their forsaken Islaun brothers, they have a silent and sacred pact to uphold the sanctity of the Shani tribe. They believe their Shani brothers are the ones who give them their gods' blessings in battle, and thusly they would fight to the death to protect those that would deliver them to the afterlife. Largely nomadic, they tend to follow their herds and claim lands in their name, but they follow an easily observed route every yearly cycle. Hence, a single Voju will return to the same place several times in his or her lifetime.
