I'm sure he'll be doing fine later. My nephew's wife is Dutch and maybe they odverid tried to talk to their daughter in three languages. She is now 5 and the only Italian I know that proudly says I'm Italian! She refuses to speak Dutch or English even tho she understands both. They are now using only Italian and Dutch with the small one (2 years old). It's funny to hear her say kakka which I don't remember what the heck it means in Dutch but in Italian sounds quite different. CiaoooMary Reply:October 15th, 2009 at 10:25 amI thought about doing three languages too, but figured it would be best to stick to two. When he goes to school he'll be exposed to the local dialect with the other kids, so that will be a third (of sorts) and if he wants to learn more, he can later. They say just by starting out speaking more than one language it makes it easier to learn more later.
