[edit] The Story

Crafted by the Dawn Caste Amanel Adriay, the grand daiklave known as Unrealized Dreams was forged from white gold purified into orichalcum, the most beautiful and forever beyond her reach dream that she had ever had, and the voice of her nightingale Lunar mate, torn forever from his throat in the middle of the most beautiful song that he had ever dreamed of singing, and would never be complete. As the legend goes, Amanel's mate died soon afterwards, broken-hearted and mute, and only his voice was preserved forever in the sword.

And Amanel herself died when the other Solars did, with her own dreams unrealized, no matter that she had tried to carve them in the ended lives of others, never understanding that violence alone would not make her able to fulfill her dreams.

[edit] The Description

The sword itself is a work of art: while it is not ornate, or decorated very much at all, as compared to the ornamentation of many of the weapons of her peers, Amanel's finest creation has its own beauty, in the perfect purity and simplicity of its elegant, utilitarian lines, somehow smooth and flowing despite its massive size. Across the gleaming white surface of the blade lies delicate Old Realm tracery in shimmering starmetal, taken from the star of the Goddess of Sacrifice for Love. The inscription reads, simply, I am not made to realize your dreams.

[edit] The Powers

Unrealized Dreams has two main powers, beyond the normal attributes that go with a grand daiklave. The sword has the effect of the Charm Summoning the Loyal Steel built into it, as a permanent effect, as the bitterness of unrealized dreams can either be put aside for the moment, or recalled again at will. In addition, when used in battle, the voice of Amanel's singer husband, forever trapped inside the blade, sings as the blade is wielded, and the heartbreaking sound reduces the DVs of all opponents by the wielder's permanent Essence, for the strength of the song is linked with the strength of the soul of the attuned.
