The confession

The truth

So, I've created like 70 sockpuppets. "Why?" Simply put... I couldn't accept myself for who I was, loathing myself so much that I tried to be something I wasn't... I created the first puppet, "Shane", in February 2012. Based in part on somebody I've only heard about, and in part on my cousin... though my first run-in with the real one was in 2021. After telling him, he was surprisingly not upset...

The very things I loathed about myself bled through to the sockpuppet, however, and so, I've made more... but from August 2020, thanks to some friends, I'm done with the puppets. I first revealed this truth at the Xyrinfe Shadow Project Forums, founded in January 2015 under the "Kim Tyranto" sockpuppet (based slightly on RKS). Then, to my three girlfriends and my twin sister. So far, they've all forgiven me...

What's the Aeonian Night?

I refer to the period of time I've used the sockpuppets as the Aeonian Night. Why? It made sense, given there were "Eternals" and whatnot... honestly, it gets confusing at some point, haha.

I feel terribly guilty over the whole thing, now that I've finally begun to accept myself for what I am... royally messed-up in the head, probably! :P

What I've done, I can understand is very unforgiveable. So, I can understand if you guys and gals either need time to process this, or if you'd rather want absolutely nothing more to do with me. There is only one thing I seek... it's atoning, or redeeming myself... how, I'm not sure, but I'll try!

One thing remains to be said: I'm truly sorry.

Why the self-loathing?

Just things I... "obsess" about. Some of which make zero sense to me. Further detail (here) probably won't be allowed, though.

Look at Dragon Riders, or Asorniva's World, or... well, most of the avatars my (female) sockpuppets used. That should give you a clue, however vague it may be. :-/

Did anyone know about this?

Well... yes. I did. :P

But in all seriousness, some have been suspecting it since... maybe 2013? Some even went and created a TV Tropes article on (see Trivia later on). No, there's no exaggerations regarding "Bloom". Ask King (2.0) if you wish.

I didn't reveal the truth 'til around end July 2020. Building up the courage to do so was... not easy, and at times, stuff happened that led to me losing courage... but rather from the pig's mouth, than from someone else's, right? (My Chinese zodiac is Pig, not Horse.)

Did I have fun?

Haha, not really... the most fun I had was the few times I played chess against someone that wasn't a sockpuppet, and maybe some forum RPGs (mainly Apocalyptic Wind Tower (forum RPG)).

Did anyone fall for my sockpuppets?

Yes. I won't name anyone, but I know of at least two people who fell for a sockpuppet of mine - unexpected? Yes. Very much so.
