The confession

The truth

So, I've created like 70 sockpuppets. "Why?" Simply put... I couldn't accept myself for who I was, loathing myself so much that I tried to be something I wasn't... I created the first puppet, "Shane", in February 2012. Based in part on somebody I've only heard about, and in part on my cousin... though my first run-in with the real one was in 2021. After telling him, he was surprisingly not upset...

The very things I loathed about myself bled through to the sockpuppet, however, and so, I've made more... but from August 2020, thanks to some friends, I'm done with the puppets. I first revealed this truth at the Xyrinfe Shadow Project Forums, founded in January 2015 under the "Kim Tyranto" sockpuppet (based slightly on RKS). Then, to my three girlfriends and my twin sister. So far, they've all forgiven me...

What's the Aeonian Night?

I refer to the period of time I've used the sockpuppets as the Aeonian Night. Why? It made sense, given there were "Eternals" and whatnot... honestly, it gets confusing at some point, haha.

I feel terribly guilty over the whole thing, now that I've finally begun to accept myself for what I am... royally messed-up in the head, probably! :P

What I've done, I can understand is very unforgiveable. So, I can understand if you guys and gals either need time to process this, or if you'd rather want absolutely nothing more to do with me. There is only one thing I seek... it's atoning, or redeeming myself... how, I'm not sure, but I'll try!

One thing remains to be said: I'm truly sorry.

Why the self-loathing?

Just things I... "obsess" about. Some of which make zero sense to me. Further detail (here) probably won't be allowed, though.

Look at Dragon Riders, or Asorniva's World, or... well, most of the avatars my (female) sockpuppets used. That should give you a clue, however vague it may be. :-/

I guess you could say I'm cursed, haha. But as stated, I've begun to accept myself for who I am, now...

Did anyone know about this?

Well... yes. I did. :P

But in all seriousness, some have been suspecting it since... maybe 2013? Some even went and created a TV Tropes article on (see Trivia later on). No, there's no exaggerations regarding "Bloom". Ask King (2.0) if you wish.

I didn't reveal the truth 'til around end July 2020. Building up the courage to do so was... not easy, and at times, stuff happened that led to me losing courage... but rather from the pig's mouth, than from someone else's, right? (My Chinese zodiac is Pig, not Horse.)

Did I have fun?

Haha, not really... the most fun I had was the few times I played chess against someone that wasn't a sockpuppet, and maybe some forum RPGs (mainly Apocalyptic Wind Tower (forum RPG)).

Did anyone fall for my sockpuppets?

Yes. I won't name anyone, but I know of at least two people who fell for a sockpuppet of mine - unexpected? Yes. Very much so.

Future plans?

NO. MORE. SOCKPUPPETS! (Or glove puppets.)

I'll try to survive the new '20s (2020 to 2029) as best I can... continue atoning, trying not to fall back into the old ways. The sockpuppets can burn in the black flames of Amaterasu, for all I care! (It's a Naruto reference.)

Will I make a final account for my true self? Only where necessary, if I'm permitted - though, my mobile phones don't support them CAPTCHA stuff.

Will I contribute to any of the sites and wikis? Maybe... not sure yet; this depends on whether or not I'm permitted to stick around. But not from my phones (for the most part) as they're... rather terrible at doing stuff for wikis and such. :p

Character limits, deleting text over 500 characters when trying to edit something... yeah, my phones ain't fit for the job all that much.

What about the sockpuppets?

They'll only be used as fictional characters for works - a few of them appear in Apocalyptic Shadow, a Cave Story mod that Lunar Tierce has been working on since 2018.

The past mods in the Xyrinfe Shadow Project (Lunar Shadow and Selenic Shadow) were mostly worked on by RKS, but they were released by myself (without her knowledge, until August 2020). She is okay with it, however...

Is there someplace to ask me questions?

Yeah, I've got a "Well" thread at the Xyrinfe Shadow Project Forums. Only members can see it, though. Questions used to go there - I only answered questions if I had a working PC and could take notes of what I've been asked. Sadly, my notes have been forever lost, so I'm currently unsure on my well.

Anything else?

I'll probably add stuff later on. I dunno. Who does? Anything's possible.

Dragon Riders Planning Forums

Most members are sockpuppets; I haven't had the chance to add those to a new "sockpuppet" group (plus it's a pain to do so from mobile).

Xyrinfe Shadow Project Forums

Like the Dragon Riders Planning Forums, most of the members are sockpuppets. Unlike those forums, however, most sockpuppets are in the appropriate "Sock Puppet" group, with only one ("Bloom") being in the "Glove Puppet" group instead, in case the XSPF admins want to test stuff out.
