Mining Guild

The largest guild in Orecrest Proper, and probably the wealthiest guild in all of Orecrest, the Mining Guild has quite a stake in the nation's government. Nearly all of the country's miners and craftsmen are members of the Guild, and their dues go towards the construction and maintenance of Guild facilities--the same facilities that allow them to work so efficiently in the first place. The Mining Guild works with contractors to divy up different mine shafts as effectively as possible, and their facilities (including smelteries, smitheries, and all the resources necessary to work out a final products) are open to their members--though a reservation may be required in advance.

Recently, Mining Guild membership has declined with the rise of the Crimson Hammer. The Hammer claims that the Guild has little to offer its craftsmen, but these are also the people the Guild owes most to. The Hammer has been "undermining" the Guild to remove from its membership and furnish its own crafting halls, becoming popular with city officials and even managing to land a building permit within Orecrest Proper's Mining Hall itself. The Mining Guild is now offering its craftsmen reduced dues in an attempt to save its profits.
