Head to the Dining Hall and have some wine first

You decide the journey would be better made with some wine down your gullet first, so you head out of your room and into the Dining Hall. The dimly lit room boasts little in the way of comfort, with only a long oak table with dozens of velvet lined chairs about it's sides and ends. You scoop up a canter of wine of goblet and have a seat at the table, pouring yourself a glass and lifting it to your lips. You sip on the pleasant tasting mix for a bit, when a servant girl wanders into the room carrying a small vase with flowers. She tidies up a bit, not noticing your presence.
You sip down to almost the bottom of your goblet while you watch her work.
