Continue heading East

From Lord Of Utterdom

You push your steed onward, heading down the eastward road. The scenery isn't what you expected, and you're almost disheartened by the constant look of rolling plains, the mountains in the south, and the forest at your back and stretching northwards. By the time you see plumes of chimney smoke rising in the distance, you're just thankful to fill your eyes with something beyond the same drivel you've witnessed thus far.

As you ride over a small hill, the town of Windlok lies at it's incline. It a mass of buildings that look marred by time, without a wall that surrounds them. The road passes straight through the middle of the village, and continues on far beyond.

As you press into the village, you notice first that the denizens look more like beggars. They're filthy, clothed in swaddling rags, and bear the look of vicious animals within their eyes. They don't look at you in the slightest, but instead go about their business without turning their face up from the road. It's a miserable looking lot, and you begin to think of simply riding straight through. Just as you raise your heels to spur your horse, you notice the Merry Moot up ahead.

It's a run down looking tavern with a drunk staggering about just outside it's door, and you feel nervous about passing through it's portal in search of some stranger. Still, you've come this far. Might as well keep going, right?
