Agree to it.

From Lord Of Utterdom

"Fine," you say, desperate to have this incident pass beyond notice. The girl gets up and says she'll meet with you in the morning to discuss details. She leaves you to your own.

You lie in bed that night, considering what's happened, and find yourself strangely attracted to the girl's sheer ability to manipulate you. Was she playing the innocent all along? Or was she simply that quick-witted. Either way, she had you by the short hairs.

The next morning, the girl explains that you will take her as your wife, and she will be queen. You're sure you can find some way out of it later, so you agree and assure you of your intentions.

You begin to spend quite a bit of time with the servant girl, and though your relationship had a violent and perverse beginning, you discover she is vibrant, vastily intelligent, and well read. You begin to fall hopelessly in love with the girl, though she is three years your junior.

Your father forbids you seeing her, but when the girl announces she is pregnant with your child, the king has little choice to avoid a scandal. He allows you to wed the girl.

As time passes, your heart softens under her grace. You become a more compassionate man, seeing the world through her eyes. As you come to love her, she begrudgingly admits that her emotions are tethered to you as well. You beg her forgiveness for your original assault, and she assures you that your love and devotion have earned penance.

You raise your son to be a better man than you were together and when your father passes, you and your wife share rule of the kingdom. You live to see a brilliant age, always working to assuage your guilt for your treatment of your wife as a girl by works of kindness.

When you pass, the whole of the kingdom mourns your loss unaware that your wife, once but your plaything, was the true power behind the throne in teaching you empathy through her love.

THE END.
