Weathering Heights
From Loonatics Unleashed
Fourth episode of Loonatics Unleashed
Plot
A storm hits Acmetropolis, Misty Breeze is doing the weather report, but a jealous Paula Hayes (who has the ability to partly control the weather) uses her powers to mess up Misty's hair after being snubbed by her. Misty goes back to her trailer, while Paula does the weather report, but when the lightning (that Paula had predicted) strikes her, she becomes Weathervane (and gains more power), she brings chaos on Acmetropolis, and blows Misty away with small tornado gusts emanating from her arms. The Loonatics are repairing a large satellite, damaged from the winds, from crashing down onto the street below, as Duck comes from the Roof exit/entrance, knocking Slam (who had just finished holding up the Satellite for Ace to weld together with his powers) off the roof. Slam is saved by Lexi and Rev, and at that moment when Slam is about to give Duck a lesson, Misty Breeze slams onto the satellite dish, and is saved by Duck.
Weathervane threatens to destroy Acmetropolis with her strengthened powers- unless Weathervane- whom she considers her rival- is delivered to her. Danger Duck- a long time fan of Misty Breeze, refuses to comply along with the rest of the Loonatics (although they are not really fans of her).
However, Weathervane is not happy that they try to interfere with her plans, and tries to eliminate them with Cloud Creatures- which the Loonatics dispel by making them absorb a mass amount of water- making them explode in the process. Infuriated, she sends lightning (which they narrowly avoided by Tech becoming a lightning rod- after which he is praised for and given vacation time by Ace- although denied to use the vacation time at the moment), then getting them caught in a tornado (which they escape by quacking, getting blown from the tornado itself, and using grapple Guns, and later countering the tornado with Slam's abilities), and then all of the elements she had dished out on them- all at once. The Loonatics manage to escape the attack mostly unscathed, but they notice Duck isn't there- as he went out to the location which Weathervane disappeared to- in the middle of the ocean.
Duck manages to infuriate Weathervane enough for her to become a Storm Dragon- capable of shooting lightning and hail as projectiles from its mouth. The rest of the Loonatics catch up to Duck and they head back to Acmetropolis, where the Storm Dragon is attacking. Tech builds a device to stop Weathervane, and they come up with a plan to lure Weathervane to a volcano, where the device will cause the volcano to erupt on Weathervane. Duck realizes that he has to be bait, since he is capable of insulting Weathervane the most. Duck then water(and land)-skis, using Rev as the effective motor, while throwing insults at Weathervane, and dodging her hail.
The rest of the Loonatics arrive at the said island, with the Port-a-lab, planning to send Slam to deliver the device into the volcano, since he could withstand heat the best out of all of them. However, due to a confusion on Tech's instructions, Slam accidentally pushes the button too early, and quickly scales the volcano and drops it into the magma. Rev and Duck arrive on the island and lead the Storm Dragon to the volcano on the island, Duck quacking out of the immediate are and Rev quickly running away before the device explodes, thus dispelling the Storm Dragon form she currently held (and destroying the Port-a-lab as well), and presumably escape after that.
