The martial artist learns to use his relative strength to his advantage. This charm permanently enhances the martial artist's abilities. If, among the martial artist's allies involved in a particular combat, the martial artist possesses the highest Essence, he gains a +1 bonus to Accuracy and Damage. If he has the highest Essence of all combatants, this bonus increases to +2.

The martial artist learns to let his essence guide his arm. This charm enhances a thrown or martial arts attack made with one of the style's Form Weapons. Thrown attacks have their accuracy increased by 1 and their range increased by the martial artist's Essence. Martial Arts attacks instead increase both Accuracy and Defense by 1 until the user's next action.

The martial artist's stance becomes graceful and sure, and his attacks are reinforced by the faith others place in him and his ideals. While this Form-type charm is active, the martial artist adds 1 to the Accuracy and Defense of all of his attacks for every ally involved in the battle that shares an Intimacy with him, or who possesses an intimacy for the martial artist, to a maximum bonus of the martial artist's Martial Arts ability.

The martial artist learns a series of katas and essence channeling exercises designed specifically to end threats quickly and without harming productive members of the State. This charm supplements a clinch or disarm attempt. If the attempt is successful, the target of the clinch or disarm must spend 1 willpower or immediately suffer an unnatural mental influence commanding him to surrender peacefully.

The true secret of authority is often simply being the loudest voice in the room at any time. With a loud shout, the martial artist immediately reminds his foes who, precisely, is boss. When this charm is activated, the martial artist rolls Charisma + Martial Arts, resisted by the Valor of all combatants currently engaged in combat with the martial artist. If the Martial Artist scores more successes, then all combatants must immediately drop their weapons, and receive an unnatural mental compulsion to cease fighting and comply with any one lawful command issued by the martial artist. This compulsion can be resisted by spending 2 willpower and rolling Integrity + Wits vs. the martial artist's Essence + Backing.
