The martial artist learns the secrets of the essence of the air and sky, and of the things that live there. This charm is a permanent enhancement of the martial artist's capabilities, and provides him with one extra die for stunts involving attacking the opponent from a higher position or while leaping.

The martial artist begins to understand that it is not strength that wins battles, but precision. When this charm is activated and the character makes a successful attack, he may - instead of doing damage - choose to commit two motes of Essence. If he does so, his blow inflames an important essence gate on his opponent's body, causing him to suffer a -1 penalty to his DVs for as long as the essence is committed. This penalty is cumulative, but the maximum penalty that can be inflicted is equal to the martial artist's Essence.

The martial artist learns the lesson of Efficiency – Why move three inches when one will do? Why attack if you will only miss? With this charm, the martial artist adds 1 to his accuracy and rate until his next action, and subtracts 1 from the total DV penalty of his actions. If you make a flurry of three attacks, you have to spend 9m, get +3 accuracy, +3 rate, and -3 overall DV penalty. It sounds like you were going for something like Hungry Tiger.]

The martial artist's movements become precise and efficient, and his strikes are buoyed by the essence of air. The martial artist may choose to make her attacks with the form weapons of this style lethal or bashing, and ignores soak from armour equal to her Essence. By spending 3 motes as a reflexive action per attack, she may reduce the speed of her attacks by 1. Also, she may add her Essence to her Parry DV.
Rending the Heavenly Skin Meditation Cost: 3m or 4m Type: Supplemental Duration: Until next action Keywords: Combo-OK Prerequisites: Crane Form Min. Martial Arts: 4 Min. Essence: 2
The martial artist learns the Secret of the Crane Fighting The Rhino, and his attacks can tear apart his opponent's armour like it was paper. When an attack is enhanced by this charm, it does no damage. Instead, for every damage dice remaining in the pool at Step 10 of the attack, the target's bashing and lethal soak is reduced by 1 until the martial artist's next action. If this reduces either soak to 0, the armour is damaged and permanently loses 1 soak until repaired. The permanent loss of soak is cumulative.
When using this charm, the martial artist may choose to spend an extra mote of essence when facing magitech armoured opponents. If he does so, this attack damages important essence circuitry, adding the number by which the armour's soak was reduced to the number of hours the armour has operated since it's last repair.

With a mighty yell, the martial artist leaps into the air, and strikes his foe from the most unexpected angle, guided by Essence and instinct to his target. This charm is an attack using the Speed of the martial artist's weapon. This attack ignores cover and is undodgeable and unparryable unless the target's defense is enhanced by charms.

The martial artist gathers his essence into an electric corona around his weapon, and lashes out with such precision that his blow does not need the fuel of pure strength to defeat his opponent. This charm is an attack which gives the weapon used the Piercing tag and inflicts Knockback equal to the martial artist's Dexterity + Essence on the target.

By fully internalizing the lessons of precision, the martial artist becomes a true force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. This charm permanently enhances the martial artist's capabilities. Any time he successfully disarms an opponent, the martial artist may reflexively spend 1 mote of Essence to damage the opponent's weapon, reducing its statistics by a number of points equal to his Essence to a minimum of Speed 8, Accuracy 0, Defense 0, Damage 0 and Rate 1. Reductions made in this fashion are permanent, except in the case of artifact weapons, which regenerate lost statistics at a rate of one point per day.
Additionally, the martial artist doubles damage and ignores half soak when attacking objects.
Broken Wing Retribution Cost: 6m Type: Reflexive (Step ) Duration: Instant Keywords: Combo-OK, Counterattack, Crippling Prerequisites: Sword Breaking Talon Min. Martial Arts: 5 Min. Essence: 4
The true nature of the Lessons of the Crane becomes apparent, and the martial artist learns to move without moving, and to strike without striking. This charm may be activated any time the martial artist suffers an attack – melee or ranged. The martial artist makes an immediate Dexterity + Martial Arts attack against the opponent, treating their DV as 0 + any bonuses from charms or magical effects.
If the attack is successful, the target suffers an internal penalty equal to the martial artist's Essence to all attacks and actions involving that limb. This heals at a rate of -1 per day. If the martial artist reflexively spends an additional 2 motes of Essence, the penalty is permanent until treated with an Intelligence + Medicine roll, difficulty equal to the martial artists' Martial Arts score.
