Osmer Miles Stacy, father of our fellow townsman Lester Stacy, died at his home in Walterville, near Eugene, on Tuesday of last week at the age of sixty-four years. The deceased had been sick for the past eighteen months with heart trouble and his death was not unlooked for. Mr. Stacy was not present at the time of his father's death but was there to attend the funeral which occurred Thursday afternoon. Burial was made at Laurel Hill Cemetery near Springfield. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and two sons, all of whom reside at Walterville excepting Lester, of this city. [February 16, 1917 Lebanon Criterion paper]
