A memorial gathering will be held at 1 p.m. June 24 in Salem for Leroy B. Inman of Florence, who died May 12 of age-related causes at age 94.
He was born Dec. 23, 1911, in Walterville to Clifton and Cora Belknap Inman. He married Thelma Iris Barker on June 20, 1941, in Vancouver, Wash. She died Oct. 1, 2005.
He served in the U.S. Army in Hawaii from 1937 to 1940. He worked as a journalist and writer for the Roseburg News Review from 1948 until his retirement in 1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Shepherd of Florence and Kathe Cartmell of Tualitin; a son, Lawrence of Livermore, Calif.; a sister, Gladys of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
Internment will be at 10 a.m. June 14 at Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Burns's Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home.
