WILLIAM S. FORT was born October 20, 1911, in East Orange... Mr. Fort entered practice of the law in Springfield, Oregon, in 1940.[1] Much of Willamalane Park and Recreational District was due to the pioneering efforts of then Lane County District Attorney William S. Fort in 1944. William S. Fort Memorial Park is named after him. In 1968, William was a Presiding Circuit Judge for the Lane County Court House in Eugene.[2]
