Contractors Buy Local Flax Plant
The 18 acre site of the Oregon Fibre Flax Plant association was sold last week to H.J. Hamilton and Harry Thoms, Eugene general contractors and bridge builders.
The peroperty located on South 22nd Street in Springfield, includes a railroad frontage of approximately 1,100 feet and five buildings and equipment. The new owners plan to make their headquarters in two of the buildings and to lease out the other three which are suitable for warehouses.
In addition, they plan to lease about eight acres of the site for a manufacturing plant or for heavy industrial use.
Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Thoms have operated their contractingfirm in Eugene for 12 years.
Hamlin and Shockley, Springfield realtors, handled the transaction.
