CIA Agent John André is a character on the animated series Thompson Colton. Prior to his involvement on the series, he was a graduate with honours from the University of Wisconsin, and was a member of his school's rugby and baseball teams. During his stay in the Army, where he was eventually promoted to Major, André was believed to be a loyal American, and was drafted into the CIA thereafter.
However, the CIA had erred in their judgement. Unknown to them, he had travelled without visa to Poland, where he met the Trenchcoat and eventually worked out a sort of deal with the Soviet Union. His "All-American" act was merely a show in order to convince his superiors to grant him access to some of the United States's most guarded information.
Plot
Spoiler warning: OMG SPOILER! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!
The first signs of this betrayal surfaced in the Season One episode "The Langley Deception". It was noticed that United States military efforts were being mysteriously and accurately pre-empted and countered by guerillas. The only explanation for this was that someone, most likely in the CIA, was selling out military secrets to the highest bidders. For obvious reasons, the CIA was barred from investigating the matter, and they insted called on MI3.
0011 was sent to investigate, and traced the calls to the CIA, as was suspected. A tense period of surveillance ensued, with Colton waiting for someone to let down their guard. Nevertheless, the CIA agents did not show any signs of breaking, André included. It was only when Colton announced his departure, did André continue any further transmissions.
However, 0011 had not truly left. Instead, he lay outside near the telephone lines in wait. With help from his OSS ally Sykes Fairbanks, he intercepted the call, and identified the traitor. When Thompson Colton burst into the room, John was gone, having escaped through the window into a waiting getaway car. Colton gave chase.
After an exciting car chase, Andre eventually lost control and crashed into a statue of Nathan Hale. Thompson dragged him out of the burning car and placed the betrayer under arrest. John Andre's fate from that point on is unclear. He may have been sent directly to the electric chair, or may still be on death row, awaiting execution. It is also likely that he was given a lighter punishment than death, though this is unlikely.
