From Jackcentric

I'm reading the how to's and going to add No Greater Gift. Let's see if I can follow directions! LOL

[edit] better I think

so I actually did something the right way! LOL (the talk feature) BTW: I DO know something. That little squiggle (~) is called a tilde and THAT is the extent of my expertise LOL. I am a mistress of useless trivia. Had to start dinner and unclog the shower but going back to try to follow directions now! --98.204.254.90 20:18, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Okay...wow I successfully added No Greater Gift and thinking I was on a roll tried adding Sam the Storyteller's "I Were the Heavens". It shows up under the title but when I search by authro Sam the Storyteller does not show up. So what have I goofed up this time? (damn, just when I thought I was getting the hang of it, too) I do like to do it on my page first...especially since I'm so new to it. Can you see what I've fubared and tell me why?--Euphrosyne2u 22:09, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

OMG!!! I DID IT! Having never done anything to a wiki other than read one I feel very accomplished right now. Going to try adding another one or two stories and authors. I'm a 'hands on' learner. The more I do something the easier it gets for me. SO I'm going to try to add at least one an evening until I'm more comfortable and then maybe I can be more helpful to you.--Euphrosyne2u 23:44, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, I'm here...and practicing adding stories (it's getting easier) I actually remebered to add the Category:Author after creating the page. I DO have a question. How do we want to describe ratings? Do we want PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 or do we want to use another rating system. Sorry if you've already put this somewhere I just started adding in new stories and authors without reading. And what about warnings? (kink, D?S, bloodplay, MPREG, etc)? Do we have a standard way or place to put them?--Euphrosyne2u 17:35, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh, sensei!!If I want to add another category...like Novella or WIP to a story I'm adding do I just repeat the Category:XXXXX like with Authors? Can I add multiple categories right behind 'authors' or do I have to do each on a seperate line or at a seperate time? I'm starting to feel comfortable enough now with the basic posting the stories thing that I'm ready to add another notch to my skill set (as tiny as it may be,LOL!)--Euphrosyne2u 20:17, 23 January 2010 (UTC) See I tried to tell you and managed to add another c a t e g o r y of X X X X instead of having it come out as a question--Euphrosyne2u 20:19, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't know what I've done wrong. I was doing it the same way every time and suddenly when I tried to add "Hearing Things" by Joolz she doesn't come up in the authors list even though I did put that in after I added the story the same way as always. I'm actually just working my way through the Jack centric fics I've bookmarked on delicious or saved to my favorites. I need to take one small step at a time before I start putting things on my own reccs page. I am assuming it is better to link to an established archive (like fanfiction or teaspoon) rather than someone's LJ? I am searching for them off of the LJ is I can (figuring some people might lock down their LJs) But can I just list multiple urls or should I make another line copying the enter urls here line again? I'm sorry for all these questions...and I was doing SO WELL, I thought! Damn it!--Euphrosyne2u 00:15, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Re: Dissolution How about 'graphic medical descriptions' or 'graphic descriptions of illness' If we have a category for 'graphic descriptions' in general then we could add the subcategories for torture, non-con, d/s, bloodplay, abuse, violence, epic sadness, etc. And I know we're thinking about Jack but maybe we should still warn for deathfics when the death isn't Jack's. Sometimes I just cannot read a deathfic...(hey, I'm menopausal and get these blue funks)and I know a lot of folks won't read them at all.--Euphrosyne2u 01:20, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
