[edit] Jackcentric Stories
Sanctuary by Tanarian -- This is really two stories in one, a Jack/TARDIS hurt/comfort piece and a Jack/Ianto porn story. The Jack/Ianto half isn't really to my taste and the very beginning of the story is a bit over the top, but the way she paints Jack's relationship with the TARDIS is absolutely lovely and perfectly reflects my personal canon. The few sentences describing how Jack sees the TARDIS is more than eloquent enough to make me overlook the flaws elsewhere in the piece.
Strange Monsters by Aeshna -- I love stories that expand on overlooked characters, and this story focuses on Jack's relationship with two of these, Alex Hopkins and Faith (the fortune-teller), as well as on Jack's relationship with Torchwood itself. It's set on New Year's morning, as Jack and Faith look toward an uncertain future and Jack looks back on a century of Torchwood, and Cardiff, now gone. His re-evaluation of that century and the one to come is a critical turning point that immediately made its way into my personal canon.
Nice Coat by Adina -- Do I really need to describe this? Could there possibly be anyone who hasn't read it already? A slow, understated progression of Jack and Ianto's relationship through the metaphor of the coat.
[edit] Almost But Not Quite Jackcentric
Scymnus by Aeshna -- This is probably my very favorite Doctor Who story of all time, and I desperately wanted to list it here on Jackcentric. But, sigh, as an admin I have to set a good example, and on strict examination I was forced to conclude that it's really only about 40% Jack and 60% TARDIS. But it's 100% wonderful -- a short study of the bond between them, with all the mystery, beauty, and grandeur of the Vortex and edged with an idea that makes so much sense: Rose may not have understood, but the alien TARDIS knew exactly what she was doing.
