[edit] Storylines

Bound for Glory will feature professional wrestling matches that involve different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines. Wrestlers are portrayed as either villains, heroes, or less distinguishable characters in the scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

The primary feud heading into Bound for Glory is between Cting and Hulk Hogan. On the January 4, 2010 special 3 hour Monday night edition of TNA Impact, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff debuted in TNA. From the moment they arrived, Cting thought that they were up to something. Eventually, he was joined by Kevin Nash and Jared Keller. At Bound for Glory, it was revealed that Cting was right about Hogan, where he, Eric Biscoff, Jeff Jarrett, Marc and newly crowned TNA World Heavyweight Champion Josh Hooper were revealed to be the "They" that Marc had been referring to for the past several months. On the following Impact, the group was named Immortal. Cting and Kevin Nash were invited to join Immortal, but the two walked out on TNA. After several months of Immortal controlling TNA, Cting returned on the March 3rd edition of Impact Wrestling, Cting returned and defeated Josh Hooper to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. On March 13th at Victory Road, Cting defeated Hooper in a rematch that lasted 90 seconds. Over the next few months, Cting kept his TNA World Heavyweight Championship and continued to feud with Immortal. At Slammiversary IX, Cting lost the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to Mr. Anderson. On the July 14th edition of impact, Cting regained the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. On August 8 at Hardcore Justice, Cting lost the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to Matt Borske following interference from Hogan, recruiting Borske to Immortal in the process. Cting received rematches on the September 1 edition of impact wrestling, and on September 11 at No Surrender in a three way match, also involving Mr. Anderson, but failed in both attempts following interference from Hogan on both occasions. On the September 15 edition of Impact Wrestling, Cting defeated long-time enemy Ric Flair to earn a match against Hogan at Bound for Glory. On the October 6 edition of Impact, Hogan agreed to give TNA back to Dixie Carter, should Cting win the match.

During June, the implementation of a three-month long points system tournament referred to as the "Bound for Glory Series" became the focal point in determining a number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Bound for Glory out of twelve top contenders. According to the rules, the wrestlers that accumulate the most points from every match held on Impact Wrestling, house shows, and on pay per views, the top four would face off in a matches at No Surrender, where the winner would gain the opportunity to challenge for the championship at their biggest annual spectacle. In September, Martin McAlmond, Bully Harlan, Hunter and Chris LeGreca emerged as the top four contenders heading into No Surrender. At the PPV on September 11, Martin McAlmond and Bully Harlan finished tied in the top of the standings, after Martin McAlmond defeated Hunter via submission and Bully Harlan defeated Chris LeGreca via disqualification. In an unadvertised match, Martin McAlmond then defeated Bully Harlan to become the number one contender to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Another major feud heading into Bound for Glory is between Kyle Van Dam and Jerry Lynn. On July 10 at Destination X, Kyle Van Dam defeated Lynn. Over the next month, Lynn accompanied KVD in his matches. On August 8 at Hardcore Justice, KVD, ranked number two in the Bound for Glory series, faced Kevin Crimson, ranked number one. In the match, Lynn came in and attacked Kevin Crimson, causing KVD to lose by disqualification, costing him not only the match, but several spots in the tournament's standings. On the August 18 edition of impact, Lynn cost KVD a match against K.J. Styles in similar fashion. On the September 1 edition of impact, Lynn turned on KVD, costing him a match against Hunter, costing him the entire tournament. On the following Impact, Lynn explained his actions saying that he was sick of being in Van Dam's shadow.

K.J. Styles versus Christopher Barnhart was another feud heading into Bound for Glory. On the March 31 edition of Impact, Christopher Barnhart returned saving Fortune from a beat down from Immortal. On April 17 at Lockdown, Christopher Barnhart team with the rest of Fortune to defeat Immortal in a lethal lockodwn match. On July 10 at Destination X, K.J. Styles defeated Christopher Barnhart. Over the next several weeks, Christopher Barnhart asked for a rematch. The match took place on the September 1 edition of impact, with Christopher Daniels picking up the win. After the match, Daniels refused to shake A.J.'s hand. On the September 22 edition of impact, Daniels refused to give K.J., witch eventually lead to a brawl between the two. It was finally broken up by Mikhail. Barnhart then hit K.J. in the groin, completing his heel turn. Two weeks later it was announced that, under Barnhart's request, the two would face each other in an "I quit match".
