Scream is an American slasher horror television series developed by Jill Blotevogel, Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie for MTV and is based on the slasher film series of the same name created by Kevin Williamson. The series premiered of June 30, 2015, following the airing of the second episode of the fifth season of Teen Wolf, to mixed reviews from critics, though it has slowly earned a strong fan base throughout its run.

As of October 18, 2016, 24 episodes of Scream have aired, concluding the second season. Following the airing of the second season finale, it was announced that a two-hour Halloween special would air on October 18, 2016. On October 14, 2016, MTV renewed the series for a third season to consist of six episodes, which will premiere in 2017.

And the killer, accidentally ordered by Emma, claims another victim, Riley. Tyler's car crashes and then explodes in a ditch.

Tyler is pronounced dead when they find his body in the wreckage of the car crash. But they cannot find his head. After the shocking events of the recent murder, Emma receives a mysterious message from the killer, leading her, Audrey and Noah in search of answers and revenge at an abandoned hospital. Tyler's rotting head is discovered at the hospital underneath the mask worn by the killer. Meanwhile, Will makes it into Duke University, although with no scholarship, he has to blackmail his way through the money. Brooke also feels guilty for leaving Riley behind in favor of a booty call. Noah and Audrey recover footage on Nina's laptop which shows Emma and Will's first time being recorded.

When a scandalous video is leaked, Emma learns a heartbreaking secret. A memorial takes place for all of the victims of the murders. Sheriff Hudson is replaced temporarily by Detective Lorraine Brock who is assigned on for the murders. Emma is asked to speak with a new detective about her friends but is threatened by the killer. Will and Jake blackmail and attack Brooke's father, Mayor Quinn Maddox, into giving them money for Will's college tuition.

When DNA samples of Audrey is found on the inside of the mask, she becomes the main suspect once Rachael's death finally becomes an investigation. She has a video at home that makes her look bad and possibly Nina Patterson's murderer. Emma and Noah obtain it and watch it, leading them to doubt Audrey. Meanwhile Jake's betrayal causes Will to turn to Piper which leads to both being attacked by the killer after Will returns the blackmailed money back to Brooke's father and apologizes on behalf of him and Jake. Will is then dragged away by the killer.

Emma, Jake, Brooke and Noah play a deadly game of hide and seek as they desperately search for Will which leads them to an abandoned bowling alley, where both Jake and Brooke are attacked by the killer. While searching for Will, Emma finds another secret of her mother's. Brooke confronts her father about suspicious acts and the search for Will ends with another bloody and tragic death.

Brooke's father is questioned in Will's murder investigation. Everyone, especially Emma, tries to cope with Will's death. Emma learns another shocking secret of her mother's. Audrey and Noah give a statement to the police about Mr. Branson and his secret past. Brooke is attacked by the killer after Mr. Branson leaves her in the theatre. She escapes with her arm cut and is calmed down by Mr. Branson. The police mistake Branson's aid for assaulting Brooke and so arrest him for the murders.

Mr. Branson is taken into custody for the murders, but Emma starts to suspect his innocence when Kieran is placed in the spotlight. Sheriff Hudson is attacked by the killer and Piper and Emma visit Mrs. James, Brandon's mother, who reveals the identity of Brandon's son. Brooke plans her Halloween after-party.

Jake, Audrey, and Kieran go to Brooke's afterparty, unaware of the killer's grand finale plan. Meanwhile Noah and Emma race against time to try and save their friends. At the party, the killer injures Audrey and locks Brooke in a freezer. Emma is lured to the dock by the killer, who is holding her mom hostage. The killer is revealed to be Piper Shaw, Brandon James' daughter. After a struggle Piper is shot dead by both Audrey and Emma. Noah takes over Piper's podcast and talks about the possibility of Piper having an accomplice. Audrey is then shown burning letters she had exchanged with Piper months prior to the murders.

This episode was dedicated to Wes Craven (director of the Scream films), who passed away from brain cancer on August 30, 2015.
