[edit] Background
Battlezone (2014) will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WIW's television programs. Wrestlers will portray heels or faces as they followed a series of events that build tension, and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
At Money in the Bank, Kevin McAlmond fought Dustin Simpson to a no contest in a Three Stages of Hell match with McAlmond winning the first fall (which was a Steel Cage match), Simpson winning the second fall (which turned out to be a Last Man Standing match, and the final fall (which would have been a Hell in a Cell match) to crown the champion, but before the third fall started Matt Borske and the The Authority came to the ring and attacked both McAlmond and Simpson. The next night on Dynasty, Rex Martin agreed with John Lehr to have both the WIW World Heavyweight Championship and the MWA World Championship being defended in a two fall fatal four way, the champions were Kevin McAlmond the WIW World Heavyweight Champion defending against Matt Broske the MWA World Champion defending against former MWA World Champion Richard Munoz and Dustin Simpson in a fatal four way match. There has been talk on this match being changed to a War Games match, but it has yet to be announced.
Another match announced for the PPV is for the WIW International Championship with the champion Josh Erickson defending the International Championship against former International Champion James Burdick, Ryan Barnhart, and Ryan Borske in a Fatal four way match (could be made with elimination rules). Burdick was announced by Glennda McAlmond due to being a former International Championship, Barnhart was announced after defeating Josh Erickson to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match last month and Ryan Borske was announced by Lynn Lehr being another MWA superstar, but also being a former International Champion in his own right, the match is signed for the Battlezone pay-per-view.
