Broken Bodies will feature professional wrestling matches that involved wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WIW's primary television programs, Rage and ShowDown. Wrestlers will portray heroes or villains as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

Since August 2009, Kevin McAlmond and Matt Borske have been feuding along with their factions, The Enterprise and The Authority of Wrestling, respectively. At Broken Bodies, after Kevin McAlmond had defeated Daniel Mazurek and KJ Styles in a Triple threat Extreme Rules match to retain the WIW World Heavyweight Championship, Borske and the rest of the Authority of Wrestling attacked McAlmond, igniting the feud between the two once again. The following Tuesday on Rage, Borske was granted a title match at McAlmond at Money in the Bank by Rex Martin, who told Borske that he was not the one granting him the title shot, McAlmond would attack Borske putting him through the announce table.

On the June 10 episode of ShowDown, it was announced that Teller would defend the title against Aldrich at the event.
