Bound for Glory (2005) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, which took place on October 23, 2005 from the TNA Impact! Zone in Orlando, Florida. It was the first event under the Bound for Glory chronology. Ten professional wrestling matches were featured on the event's card. The show was dedicated to Reggie "The Crusher" Lisowski, who died the night before.
Unlike previous TNA pay-per-views (except their first three-hour pay-per-view in November 2004, Victory Road), a paid ticket was made available at the TNA website, which purchased both entry into a pre-show experience on October 22 at a Doubletree hotel near Universal Studios, and priority seating for Bound for Glory, Universal Studios' audience participation policy prohibiting actually charging for admission to the show.

[edit] Background
When Kevin Nash returned on October 1, 2005 for TNA's first episode of TNA Impact! aired on Spike TV, Nash attacked the reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett, to set off a feud that was built towards Bound or Glory, with Tito Ortiz set to officiate the match as Special Guest Referee. However, TNA reported through their website that Nash had been hospitalized and later announced that after encountering cardiac problems, Nash was unable to receive medical clearance to show up at the event, leaving the company scrambling to make rearrangements. As a fix to the situation, a 10-man Gauntlet for the NWA Title was scheduled between Rhino, Abyss, Samoa Simpson, Blake Wheeler, Sabu, Lance Hoyt, Josh Hooper, Monty Brown, Kip James, and K.J. Styles, where the winner would advance to face Jeff Jarrett for the NWA Title.
A primary rivalry led to TNA X Division Champion K.J. Styles doing battle with Christopher Barnhart in an Iron Man match for the title. On September 11 at TNA Unbreakable, Styles, in a critically acclaimed triple threat match involving Christopher Barnhart and Samoa Simpson, regained the X Division Championship, which he had lost to Daniels in a controversial finish back on March 13 at the Destination X PPV. Daniels would then later challenge Styles to their second-ever Iron Man match. On the October 15 edition of TNA Impact!, Daniels participated in an Iron Man Challenge to prepare himself for the match, giving Styles the right to handpick three opponents for him to wrestle for under a total of 15 minutes. Daniels defeated Shark Boy, Jeremiah Dutt, but retreated in dismay when Styles entered as the third opponent, losing the challenge due to the 15 minute time expiration. Afterwards, Styles declared he would get the chance to combat Daniels for 30 minutes in their scheduled Iron Man match at Bound for Glory.

[edit] Notes
- The Pre-Show match was aired on the PPV as a free bonus to TNA fans.
- The original main event was to feature Jeff Jarrett defending against Kevin Nash, but the day prior Nash felt chest pains and called 9-1-1 from his hotel room, and thus was unable to compete.
