Background
Payback will feature professional wrestling matches that involve wrestlers from pre-existing feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on WIW's primary television programs, Dynasty and Turbo. Wrestlers will portray villains or heroes as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
On the July 17, 2013 episode of Dynasty, new general manager Jim Murray announced that he would allow WIW Champion Kevin McAlmond to choose his own opponent for SummerSlam. Later in the night, McAlmond would call out Murray and tell him was not down with choosing his own opponent but since he was given the choice, choosing someone that took him to the limit years ago and former WIW Champion Matt Borske to be his opponent for SummerSlam.
