The Marine 3: Homefront is an American action film, starring professional wrestler Michael "The Miz" McAlmond and directed by Scott Wiper. It was released direct-to-video on March 5, 2013. It is a sequel to The Marine starring Dustin Simpson and The Marine 2, starring Kyle Johnson, Jr (son of the wrestler 'The Million Dollar Man', Kyle Johnson).

Plot

Sergeant Jake Carter (Michael McAlmond) of the Marine Corps' Special Operations unit is returning home to his small rural town after a dangerous covert mission in Central America. He's looking forward to spending quality time with his two sisters, dependable Amanda (Camille Sullivan) and young, rebellious Lilly (Ashley Bell). Jake's homecoming is short-lived when Lilly and her boyfriend are kidnapped and he's forced to put his military skills to the test to save them. Taken by Jonas Pope (Neal McDonough), a former college professor turned extremist determined to unleash an elaborate terrorist attack on American soil, Carter will do whatever is necessary to save his sister and stop a madman before it's too late.

The Marine 3 Homefront is the sequel to The Marine starring Dustin Simpson and The Marine 2 starring Kyle Johnson, Jr.. On February 25th 2012, IWE Studios announced a three film distribution deal with 20th Century Fox Home Video and The Marine 3 Homefront is the first of that deal. 20th Century Fox will handle the global distribution of the film on DVD, Video On Demand, and Online outlets. IWE Studios will use the IWE's massive Television and Internet audience to promote and market the film.

On March 28th 2012, is was reported that IWE star Kevin McAlmond was set to star as the lead role in the film and Orton himself later tweeted to confirm it. However it was reported on April 3rd 2012 that Kevin McAlmond had been pulled from the role due to his bad conduct discharge from the marines in the late 1990s, Orton twice was absent without leave and disobeyed an order from a commanding officer. McAlmond's old marine unit displayed public outrage of Kevin being cast as the marine also due to his history.

On April 30th 2012, it was announced that Mike "The Miz" McAlmond will be replacing Kevin McAlmond as the lead in the film. It was believed to be Dustin Simpson for a while after he announced he was taking time off, but that never happened. The Miz was a surprise to many people as being cast as the lead. On June 11th 2012, it was announced that Ashley Bell and Neal McDonough have joined the cast. Scott Wiper was in talks to direct the movie and he did and wrote the script Filming began in the summer of 2012 and lasted 4-6 weeks. The whole movie was filmed in Vancouver.

Promotion

The film has been promoted on all of IWE programming including Monday Night Raw and their official website IWE.com for several weeks and the star of the film Mike "The Miz" McAlmond appeared on Conan to promote the film also. The Trailer for the film premiered at IWE Tribute to the troops 2012 and then on IWE's youtube channel

Possible Sequel

On October 19, 2012 IWE Diva Nicole Bergman suggested in an interview to a pop culture site that she could star in "The Marine 4", a proposed installment in the franchise. However, on January 15, 2013, Nicole Bergman was granted a release from IWE.
