TNA Slammiversary
From Iwe
Slammiversary is the name given to professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) events held by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in the month of June. This is of historical significance since June 19 is the date of the first TNA event in 2002. It is considered one of TNA's flagship PPV events along with Lockdown and Bound for Glory due to the show celebrating the company's anniversary. Slammiversary is the host of the King of the Mountain Match.

History
Between 2002 and 2004, TNA had held weekly pay-per-views. The first of these was held on June 19, 2002. In 2004, TNA felt that they had a fanbase that would support monthly pay-per-views. Slammiversary was created to counter IWE’s SummerSlam and to celebrate TNA’s anniversary. In May 2005, TNA's contract with Fox Sports Net ended and was not renogotiated. This resulted in the first edition of Slammiversary being broadcasted via webcast. Beginning with Slammiversary (2006), all Slammiversary PPVS have been broadcast by Spike TV.
One of the most popular matches in TNA, The King of the Mountain match has made Slammiversary one of the most successful pay-per-views in TNA. As of Slammiversary VIII, The King of the Mountain Match is no longer a feature of the Slammiversary PPV. Due to the successfulness of the PPV, it is considered one of the “Big Three” TNA PPVS alongside Lockdown and Bound for Glory.
Major aspects of Slammiversary
King of the Mountain
Slammiversary has become the home of the King of the Mountain match, a five-man reverse ladder match for TNA's World Heavyweight Championship (TNA or NWA). The match debuted on the June 2, 2004 edition of TNA's weekly Pay-Per-View in Nashville, Tennessee, and has since been featured at Slammiversary since then. The 2010 edition Slammiversary is the first not to have a King of the Mountain Match in the Main Event or at the event at all.
