Blackout (2012) is an upcoming efed professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by Attitude Era Wrestling, which will take place on October 28, 2012 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, Tennessee. It will be the first annual Blackout pay-per-view.

Background
The main rivalry for Blackout is Light Heavyweight Champion Petey Williams defending against the challenger, CM Punk, for weeks Punk has attacked Williams, Williams who is the first-ever and so far longest reigning Light Heavyweight Champion, finally agreed to put the title on the line against Punk at Blackout.
The second match announced for the pay-per-view was an Open Challenge sent out by Chris Hero. Colt Cabana had a choice to accepted the open challenge of Chris Hero or face Bray Wyatt for the AEW Championship, Cabana accepted his "One Last Title" opportunity. But later on in the evening on October 15, Hero's challenge was officially answered as Dean Ambrose returned to AEW to accept the challenge.
The first match announced for the Blackout pay-per-view was announced on the October 1, One Year Anniversary Show that AEW Starlets Champion Velvet Sky will defend the title against former AEW Starlets Champion Candice Michelle. On July 29 at Redemption Sky defeated Michelle to win the Starlets Championship for the third time in her career. On August 26 at Summer of Destiny Michelle defeated Lucy Furr in the finals to be named "Queen of the Ring" and earn a shot at the AEW Starlets Championship, On October 1 at the One Year Anniversary Show, Michelle defeated Sky with help from Maria Kanellis who attacked Sky. The match was changed to a Elimination Gauntlet match with Velvet Sky, Candice Michelle, Eve, Natalya, Maria Kanellis, Ashley Massaro, and Maryse.
On AEW.com it was announced that Mankind will face off with Samoa Joe in a Falls Count Anywhere match at Blackout and also announced on AEW.com is a 3-on-2 Handicap Tag team Match when the newest stable in AEW P1 Industries (AJ Styles, Austin Aries, and Justin Gabriel) faces off with Zema Ion and Ryback.
