Andrew "Dax" Hoovestall (born June 6, 1985) is a Scottish professional wrestler signed with IWE, where he wrestles on the SmackDown brand as Dax Hoovestall.
He began training from the age of 15 in England, before moving back to Scotland to begin his career. Before long he became a regular in British Championship Wrestling (BCW) using the gimmick "Thee" Dax Galloway, winning their Heavyweight Championship twice along with the Heavyweight Championship of Insane Championship Wrestling. He also found success abroad in Irish Whip Wrestling, winning their top title. During this time he completed an undergraduate degree in criminology.
After touring the independent circuit around the British Isles, Hoovestall moved to the United States in 2007 to sign with IWE. Along with a brief stint on the SmackDown brand, he spent time in developmental territories Ohio Valley Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling, winning the Heavyweight and Tag Team Championships later, before returning to SmackDown and quickly winning the IWE Intercontinental Championship. In 2010, he held the IWE Tag Team Championship with Mark Semmler.

Hoovestall would then follow the lead of Jinder Mahal and would join Tyler Rask, Chad Coulter, Camacho and Hunico in assaulting Kane at Raw 1000. Before the group could make the assault, however, they would be interrupted by the Undertaker, who with Kane, would temporarily reform the Brothers of Destruction to take out the group. In September, Hoovestall announced that he was undergoing wrist surgery and he would be out of action for a few weeks. He returned in the Night of Champions Pre-Show in a 16 man Over the Top Rope battle royal, where he was eliminated by the eventual winner Zack Nuss.
On the September 21 episode of SmackDown, Hoovestall would again follow the lead of Jinder Mahal, interfering in a match between Devin Keller and Brodus Clay. Although the two would cause Slater a disqualification loss, they would prevent a pinfall loss. The three would proceed to assault Clay by performing their finishers on him. The group would reveal their stable name to be The Encore on Twitter.
