Background

The first thing announced for Summer Madness (2012) was the 8-man Summer of Destiny tournament with Jack Swagger, Tyler Reks, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Sean O'Haire, and Eric Young being officially announced as the eight superstars to take part in the tournament. On the August 6, 2012 episode of Concussion Dean Ambrose was victorious over Stevie Richards in the first Quarter Final bout whilst Tyler Reks defeated Jack Swagger with his Fall From Grace finisher in the first Quarter Final matches. Due to A.J. Styles attacking Jack Swagger before his match with Tyler Reks, The Phenomenal One was replaced with Drew McIntyre.
