On January 29, 2012 at the Royal Rumble, Dan Burdick won the Royal Rumble match giving him the right to challenge either the IWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion or the IWE Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania. On the first Meltdown of February, Burdick attacked McAlmond and leveled him with his own finisher the KooperBomb and hitting him with the Heavyweight Championship, That night on IWE.com it was officially announced that Burdick would challenge Kooper for the IWE Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.
