- January saw the return of Bret Heart since the Montreal Screwjob between IWE Chairman Terry Hiatt, Ryan Barnhart and Bret Heart himself at the 1997 Survivor Series. D-Generation X defeated Jeri-Show in a Tag Team match to retain the Unified IWE Tag Team Championship and also sending Khris Jericho back to being only on Friday Night Smackdown.
