Not to be confused with WIW World Women's Championship, WIW Divas Championship, or WIW Women's Championship (1999–2010).

Following the reintroduction of the WIW brand extension and subsequent draft on July 19, 2016, WIW Women's Champion Kaila Matteson was drafted to Rage, the title was renamed the WIW World Women's Championship, leaving ShowDown without a women's championship. Immediately following SummerBash on the August 26, 2016 episode of ShowDown, Turf Finnegan and ShowDown commissioner Dixie Finnegan unveiled the new WIW Women's Championship and announced that the inaugural champion will be determined at Aftershock in a Six-pack challenge, the partcipates will be decided in fatal four way matches in the next two weeks, on the August 26, 2016 episode of ShowDown, the first four way match saw Katie Mansfield defeated Jamie Carroll, Megan Zanto and Hannah Weiner, the second saw Beatrice LaGreca defeated Kristen Erickson, Megan Zanto and Kelsey Wagner. The final two matches place later on the August 26 episode of ShowDown, Megan Zanto vs. Melissa Warren vs. Brittany Hiatt vs. Katelyn Whitehead and the final four way would be vs. Nicole Bergman vs. Leigh Hicks vs. Carolyn Kuser vs. Stephanie Claassen. Two more fatal four way matches will be announced next week on ShowDown. The winners of the fatal four way matches will advance to a six-pack challenge at Aftershock.
