Nancy Drew is an American mystery drama television series based on the series of mystery novels about the titular character. The series was adapted for The CW by Noga Landau, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and is produced by CBS Television Studios, in association with Fake Empire.
It is the third Nancy Drew television series, following The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries (1977–1979) and a 1995 Canadian-American version. Development for a new television series started in 2015 at CBS, then later at NBC. In 2018, the project moved to The CW where the series was ordered for a pilot.
The series is narrated and led by the amateur sleuth Nancy Drew, played by Kennedy McMann, and features an ensemble cast with re-imagined versions of the characters from the books: Leah Lewis as George Fan, Maddison Jaizani as Bess Marvin, Tunji Kasim as Ned Nickerson and Scott Wolf as Carson Drew. It also stars Alex Saxon, Alvina August and Riley Smith as new characters invented for the series.
The series debuted on October 9, 2019 to mixed reviews. In October 2019, The CW picked up the series for a full season and in January 2020, the network renewed the series for a second season, which is set to premiere in January 20, 2021.

Premise
After her college plans are put on hold, 18-year-old Nancy Drew finds herself involved in a ghostly mystery when she and her four friends are witnesses (and suspects) to a murder and they all team up to find the person responsible.

- Kennedy McMann as Nancy Drew, a brilliant former teenage detective whose sense of self used to come from solving mysteries, but who finds herself reluctantly drawn into a homicide case connecting to her family. This leads her to resume her old career with the assistance of a group of close friends, the Drew Crew. By the end of season 1, she discovers that the Drews are not her biological parents and that she is really a member of the wealthy, corrupt Hudson family.
- Leah Lewis as Georgia "George" Fan, Nancy's old nemesis from high school and the manager at the local diner, The Bayside Claw, which she later buys with the help of Ned.
- Maddison Jaizani as Bess Marvin, a rich city girl with a mysterious past who works as a waitress with Nancy at The Bayside Claw and is also part of the Drew Crew.
- Tunji Kasim as Ned "Nick" Nickerson, a former teenage convict and football player who now runs an auto repair shop. He is Nancy's ex-boyfriend and part of the Drew Crew.
- Alex Saxon as Ace, the zen and amiable dishwasher/cook at The Bayside Claw with a secret to hide. He uses his computer hacking skills to assist the Drew Crew.NBC
- Alvina August as Det. Karen Hart (season 1), an investigator with the Horseshoe Bay police department who is dating Nancy's father Carson, but is later fired and arrested for interfering with a police investigation. August is credited through "The Haunting of Nancy Drew".
- Riley Smith as Ryan Hudson, a handsome and affluent socialite who is the husband of murder victim Tiffany Hudson. He repeatedly crosses paths with Nancy in his quest to usurp control of his family's fortune from his parents, who treat him as a failure. In the end of season 1, it is revealed that he is Nancy Drew's biological father and that her mother was Lucy Sable.
- Scott Wolf as Carson Drew, a criminal defense attorney and Nancy's widowed father, whose attempts to connect with Nancy since her mother's death have failed. Carson is Nancy's adopted father and secretly adopted her with his wife Katherine in keeping with her biological mother's wishes.

- Adam Beach as Chief E. O. McGinnis, the Horseshoe Bay sheriff and Karen's boss. He isn't fond of Nancy's knack for interfering with police investigations, but occasionally helps her anyway. He eventually leaves Horseshoe Bay to take a job in a different town after facing allegations of incompetence in the investigation of Lucy Sable's death.
- Sinead Curry as Tiffany Hudson, Ryan's wife who is murdered at the start of Season 1. Nancy's investigation reveals that she was killed by Lucy's half-brother.
- Stephanie Van Dyck as Lucy Sable, a girl killed 19 years ago who is revealed to be Nancy Drew's biological mother in the end of season 1.
- Sara Canning as Katherine Drew, Nancy's adoptive mother who died of pancreatic cancer a year earlier.
- Katie Findlay as Lisbeth, a woman working for the Hudson family and Bess's love interest. She is secretly an officer with the state police.
- Miles Gaston Villanueva as Owen Marvin (season 1), the scion of a wealthy clan with ties to the Hudsons and a potential ally and love interest to Nancy. He dies as a result of refusing to call Nancy upstairs at the birthday party that Bess organized for Aunt Diana. We later find out Owen's death was because of Joshua and not the Aglaeca.
- Stevie Lynn Jones as Laura Tandy, Tiffany's sister who suspects her sister was murdered and pushes for further investigation, even drawing Ace, her ex-boyfriend, in to help. At the end of Season 1, she leaves to start a new life in Paris after finally ending things with Ace.
- Liza Lapira as Victoria Fan, George's deadbeat mother who knows a lot of things about ghosts.
- Judith Maxie as Diana Marvin, Bess's rich aunt who manipulates her niece into doing questionable things for the good of the family.

| In the fictional town of Horseshoe Bay, Maine, retired teenage detective Nancy Drew is spending her gap year working as a waitress at The Bayside Claw while she deals with the grief of her mother Katherine's death. All that changes when one night, she and her co-workers George, Bess, and Ace discover the body of Tiffany Hudson, wife of local businessman Ryan Hudson. When the police chief tries to pin the murder on Nancy, whom he's despised for years, she breaks into Ryan's house looking for evidence and finds a locket hidden in a secret compartment. The locket contains a reference to Lucy Sable, a girl who was killed nineteen years ago; Nancy, Bess, and George hire a medium to contact Lucy's spirit and receive a cryptic message to "find the dress". Nancy discovers that her father is secretly dating a cop, Karen Hart, and that her boyfriend Nick served time after Tiffany testified against him in court. She decides to try and figure out who killed Tiffany, with Bess, George, and Nick among her potential suspects. | In an effort to improve his public image, Ryan takes part in the town's annual Seawater Festival, in which a bucket of seawater is placed outside to determine whether someone will die in the coming year. Nancy learns that the Hudson family has arranged for Tiffany's body to be moved out of town, so she decides to break into the morgue and take some blood to be analyzed. She also spies on George, learning of her secret relationship with Ryan. George angrily refuses to help, blaming Nancy for her reputation as a "slut" in high school. Bess and Ace pretend to have car trouble to delay Ryan's transporter Lisbeth, who hits it off with Bess. Nancy retrieves the blood and some evidence connected to Lucy's case, but accidentally trips the alarm; George suddenly arrives and hides the goods while Nancy is arrested. Carson agrees to represent Ryan in order to afford his daughter's bail. He tells her that Nick couldn't have known Tiffany's identity since she testified behind a screen. | Nancy discovers evidence of a secret friendship between Tiffany and Nick. He explains that she had been visiting him every week up until his release and left him an old clock in Nancy's mother's roadster. Karen informs Nancy that the charges against her will be dropped if she helps build a case against Nick. George is nearly killed by several "accidents", and receives a visit from a woman named Rita who turns out to have died several decades earlier. Nick and Nancy follow Tiffany's clues to Lilac Inn, and find a hidden vault containing a lockbox. Carson finds a print on Nancy's shoe matching one she left behind at the inn. Nancy reveals the details of Tiffany's relationship to Karen so that Nick will not be treated as a suspect. Nick confesses to the group that he really did kill someone by accident, and finds $5 million in bearer bonds in the lockbox, money that Nancy believes Tiffany left for him. | Looking into Bess' past, Nancy finds a passport under the name "Bess Turani" with her picture. Bess turns out to be an English girl who believes the Marvins are her biological relatives, but isn't entirely sure. On the day of Tiffany's funeral, a ghost attacks Bess in the Claw's walk-in, prompting the girls to turn to George's clairvoyant mother Victoria who explains how to perform a ritual that will seal Tiffany's ghost away for good. Tiffany's sister, Laura Tandy, arrives in town seeking to learn the truth behind her death and recruits Ace, her ex-boyfriend, to help. At the funeral, George manages to only complete part of the ritual due to Bess wandering away from her post. Laura upstages Ryan's father Everett's eulogy by playing Tiffany's last 911 call and announcing her intentions to seek justice. Carson subsequently informs the media that Tiffany's autopsy report is inconclusive, angering Ryan. That night, Ned learns from a hidden camera that Laura broke into his garage, and Nancy follows a clue left by a ghost to Keene High School, turning up a photo of Lucy with Karen. | Under the influence of Tiffany's spirit, George's behavior becomes increasingly unpredictable. Victoria warns the group that unless a ritual of exorcism is performed, she will eventually consume George's life force, erasing her forever. Local developer Owen Marvin hires the Bayside Claw to provide catering services to a local charity gala, but Bess asks Nick to go in her place to avoid having to deal with his family. While at the gala, Nancy runs into Karen, who reveals Lucy died a year after abruptly ending their friendship. Ryan has an argument with Owen, which George witnesses; Tiffany takes over, steals a dress and knife, and goes to confront him. Victoria and Bess arrive, and despite Laura disrupting the ritual, are able to banish her. Ace and Nick force Laura to return the flash drive she stole. Using a code word given to him by Tiffany in her final moments, Nick breaks the password on the drive and finds a mountain of evidence compiled against the Hudsons, including a possible connection to Owen.
