The 2015 NFL season, the 96th season in the history of the National Football League (NFL), and the 50th of the Super Bowl Era. The season began on Thursday, September 10, 2015, with the annual kickoff game featuring the defending Super Bowl XLIX champion New England Patriots hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers, which resulted with the Patriots winning 28–21. The season will conclude with Super Bowl 50, the league's championship game, on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
