Background

The main rivalry for the Pay-per-view is Matt Borske and Matt Hooper over the MCW Championship, On a non-televised show the Borske was defeated by Hooper which led to a confrontation between the two. Borske told Hooper that the win was a fluke and he would not be able to do it again, One week after that on another non-televised show Hooper would pin Borske for a second time. Borske challenged Hooper to a tag team match later on in the night with Matt Borske choosing his Brother, Ryan Borske and Matt Hooper choosing his brother, Josh Hooper for the Tag team match. Later that night, in the main event Tag Team match Matt Hooper and Josh Hooper would defeat Matt Borske and Ryan Borske when Matt Hooper pinned Matt Borske for a third time, The MCW General Manager Lynn Lehr was forced to put Matt Borske inside the Steel Cage with Matt Hooper at Caged Heat.

The second main feud was between former MCW Intercontinental Champion Nick Kessler and new MCW Intercontinental Champion Kevin McAlmond, On the April 11, 2012 episode of Dynasty Kevin defeated Kessler and Kapphan in a Triple Threat match to win the MCW Intercontinental Championship and win his first singles title for a MCW title. Later that night, Kessler told Lynn Lehr that he wanted his rematch at Caged Heat, Lehr would not give it to him. Due to the point that she had already scheduled a match with the two to be in already, She than announced the first-ever Caged Heat match with Kevin leading his team (later announced to be, Dustin, Jesse, Chris and Mark) Kessler would be happy with the match and he announced his team on IWE.com. The match was fully announced on April 14, 2012 after Turbo, It would be Nick Kessler (Captain), Tarry Anderson, David Aldrich, Jason Downing and Phillip Branscum taking on Kevin McAlmond, Dustin Simpson, Jesse Dern, Chris Gomez and Mark Semmler.
