Boulevard Lafayette

The Boulevard Lafayette is the longest urban road in Tientsin-Fort Bayart. The Boulevars has been planed by Jean-Eude de la Durantière in his Plan pour la ville de Fort Boyart. Through Fort Bayart's history, the boulevard has been extendented. From the 2km planed, the boulevard is now 10km long.
The boulevard is subdivided into seven quais(banks) and one allée: (from east to the west) Quai de La Durantiere, Quai Saint George, Quai de Nemours, Allée Hongzhang, Quai Sainte Madelaine, Quai George Pompidou, Quai de Tai Po. The Postal nomenclature for buildings on the boulevard is the following :

Many important buildings are located on the boulevard such as the Tientsin Caslte, Sainte Madelaine Church, Tientsin Parliament, Dugommier Administrative Center and the Saint George Station.
The boulevards is now used by the ligne 1, also known as ligne Napoleon.
[edit] Quai de Nemours
Named after the Duke of Nemours, first Duke of Fort Bayart, the Quai de Nemours are located in the nouvelle ville of Fort Bayart, planned by La Durantiere in 1861. The Gare Saint George is located just on Quai de Nemours.
[edit] Allee Hongzhang
Name after the first King of Tientsin to be converted to catholicism by the order of Jesus. The Allee is the only part of the Boulevard Lafayette to be not bordered by water. The Allee passes through the old town of Tientsin. Tientsin Castle, the Jesus House and the French Governor House are located on the Allee Hongzhang

The Quai Sainte Madelaine is the longest part of the Boulevard Lafayette. The Quai was planed by La Durantiere but thrid the lengh it has now.
