Insurgency
From Insurgency
Also known as /i/nsurgents, I/nfidels, or /i/nvaders, the Insurgency is the militant offshoot of Anonymous. Comprised of Anonymous and several namefags, the Insurgency Corps numbers over nine thoooouuuuuuuusssssssaaaaaaand and conducts invasions and raids against lulzworthy opponents.
Utilizing a variety of combat methodologies, the insurgency attempts to inflict overwhelming and/or permanent damage to it's intended target. These methods may include (but are not limited to):
- Bandwidth raep - DDoS attacks - Psychological Operations (PsyOps) - Bruteforcing - Old School Hax
[edit] Initial formation of the Insurgency
The insurgency grew out of an increasing displeasure by Moot and the other fags at 4chan to allow raid threads in /b/. Invasions were common occurances for the /b/tards, and threads about DevianTART, Habbo Hotel and the like became rallying points and defacto command posts for attacks on these sites. According to ED, on August 23, 2006 moot condemned invasions and raids to be a violation of the 4chan TOS, and b&able. In response to the wide scale b&hammer, the image board 7chan soon became the center of the /i/nsurgency, based in it's /i/ board.
Initially containing habbo raid and stickcam threads, the /i/ board and it's members (originally known as /i/nfidels) grew as they achieved moar and greater victories, culminating in 7chan /i/'s greatest and most epic win: Hal Turner.
[edit] Current Status
After 7chan began suffering from a lack of money and an abundance of 404, the insurgency found its new home at 420chan's /i/. There we remain, until Kirt gets V& or runs out of cash. 7chan's /i/ died on June 23, 2007, leaving nothing but a "Show's over, folks" and a nigra captioned with "POOL'S CLOSED".
420chan's /i/ recently came into it's own after achieving epic win during the Longcat Crusade: a month and a half long strike against subeta. The longcat crusade is also notable for several innovations: most notably the introduction and masterful use of PsyOps, as well as the establishment of the /i/ Research and Development Division (Q-Branch).
[edit] Rules
/i/ is, of course, very anti-social and very anti-establishment. Nonetheless, there are a few rules:
a. Raids are for the LULZ, for the hell of it, or for GREAT JUSTICE!!!!
b. /i/ does not attack /i/.
c. We are not your personal army.
