- For students, researchers, faculty, etc. affiliated with Gadjah Mada University (e.g., scheduled interviews, short-term lecture or study), you can stay at the Wisma Mahasiswa & Wisma Tamu (MMUGM) in Yogyakarta. The rooms are nice (furnished, AC, refrigerator, secure, running water, sometimes a television) and breakfast can be included in the price. One drawback is that the building is close to a mosque, so you will most likely get woken up very early each day! One plus is that the building is quite close to the Galeria Mall and surrounding shops. For information and reservations, contact the Office of Student Housing, Jl. -- MMUGM allows for short stays and long stays. There are different rates for standard, deluxe, and executive rooms. Check-in time is 2pm and check-out time is 12pm. There are also different rates if one is a student of UGM or if one is foreign, postgraduate, etc. Short stay rooms as of January 2009 were Rp.260.000/Rp.310.000/Rp.370.000 per day. Long stay rooms started at monthly rates of Rp.1.600.000 per month and go up to Rp.4.100.000 per month, depending on type and status. Long stay rooms have a minimum contract of 4 months plus a 1 month deposit.

- Transportation: Taxis are expensive, so where possible take a becak or ojek. A taxi (one-way) from the airport to Gadjah Mada University is about Rp. 35,000 as of August 2006.
