Dante Mithra PI
As a little five year old child, Dante needed to learn English before he and his family moved to Great Britain and certainly before he attended Hogwarts. His mother's way of teaching him was quite smart. She bought him a few comic books in English, and taught him the language through those. Soon, mini-Dante was a fluent speaker.
However, these comic books had more of an impact on Dante than he and his mother realized. His favorite comic book of those he received was the account of a Private Eye during the 1920s. Soon, Dante started to have reoccurring dreams about his own journey as a Private Investigator...
Dante Mithra Private Eye is an on-going dream and sidestory played out mostly by the admins, although other members are invited to join in from time to time. Its plot is like a 'film noir' and centers around Dante Mithra as the anti-hero.
The Plot
Dante Mithra is a young detective working in New York City who has recently moved from Turkey in hopes getting away from a murky past. He quickly found a girl named Aerys Sangranis who was being harassed and abused by her boyfriend who was heavily involved with an Irish street gang. He rescued her from that situation by giving her a job as his secretary, so that she would have enough money to support herself and not depend on him.
As different cases are presented to Dante, he must decide who is the 'good guy' in the situation and play a dangerous game with the boundaries between good and evil. Some of his own actions, although being done for 'the greater good', may leave you wondering just who the 'good guy' in this story is.
Characters
Dante Mithra played by Dante Mithra - The main character of the story. He is a detective living in NYC who has a strong sense of what is right and wrong, but feels that it's OK to break a few rules here and there for a 'greater good.' His past is a little foggy and he hardly brings it up. Over all, he is a little innocent, easily seduced, but extremely brave in the face of danger.
Freja Verillion played by Freja Mithra - Freja is the troubled yet sexy femme fatale of Dante Mithra Private Investigator. Freja and Dante meet when she enters his office and offers herself in exchange for helping to find her little sister, Amaryllis. Little does he know that she is actually working for Cillian Rodrigo and is helping to take him down.
Cillian Rodrigo played by Cillian Rodrigo - The mob boss and main antagonist of Dante Mithra Private Investigator. Cillian is in charge of a huge mafia and is at the head of organized crime. He will do people favors in exchange for their promise of a favor in the future. He is ruthless, cunning, and yet there is a lighter side to him. He has a weakness for certain types of women.
Amaryllis Verillion played by Amaryllis Noircroix - Freja's younger sister who also owes Cillian Rodrigo a favor. Amaryllis didn't like the idea of parading around as a flapper and working undercover for him, so Cillian decided to have her pose as a man and work under cover for him. Freja and Amaryllis seem to have a very close, sisterly relationship.
Parallels to the Real World
Since the story is all from Dante's point of a view, a great deal of the portrayals of people are fairly skewed - most notably, Cillian's. However, there are a few parallels between the real world and Dante's Dream.
- Aerys still has her Seer abilities, although they are less pronounced and dismissed as fainting spells.
- Dante's insecurity about Freja and Cillian is shown through Cillian's pressuring of Freja to both kill Dante and be with Cillian, when in real life Cillian would never do either thing.
