Formal and informal greetings in Lithuania / Portugal.

In Portugal informal greetings are directed for a group of students or colleagues. In that case we say: "Hy, everyone! Are you ok?" - Olá malta, tão bons? The formal greetings are directed for the people when they are talking to someone who they don't know or with someone with an important positionan in their job, like their bosses or their supervisior. In this case we should say:Goodmorning, Sir.How are you? - Bom dia Sr,como está? In Portugal there is three ways of adressing people: tu, você and Sr.\\Sra. if you go to a shop and someone who you don't know ask you something you should answer with "Sr or Sra" if they are older than you or "tu" if they had your age.

There are only two ways of greeting in Lithuania. There are formal and informal. We are usually saying “Labas” – like “Ola” to well known person or friend, or to somebody, who has a similar age. But to the older people it is general to say in more formal way: “Labas rytas” – “Bom dia”, “Laba diena” – “Boa tarde”, and “Labas vakaras” – “Boa noite”.
