Tektites

From Hyrule

Tektites are another common creature found amongst the monsters of Hyrule, usually in mountainous areas where it's powerful legs give it an advantage.

[edit] Appearance

Tektites have fairly flat bodies suspended on four long, thin legs. They have one large eye, and leap great distances easily. They come in both red and blue. The blue tektites are slightly more durable, and they seem to be more comfortable with water, able to glide along its surface.

[edit] Intelligence

The tektite shows fair intelligence in its attacking strategy. A tektite will tend to keep jumping around, making it nearly impossible to hit, and land on its opponent. Often they will leap just as you attack, showing they have good reflexes.

Tektites generally come in swarms, and that makes them hard to fend off sometimes, although they tend to be a fairly minor enemy when it comes to powerful positions and being a large threat. There has never been a boss or even mini-boss resembling a tektite, and perhaps that is a good thing--They are hard enough to dodge without being ten times their normal size and twenty times as strong, after all.
